California City is a pretty unique place, in that its kind of like a town that time forgot...

If you squint, and there are no cars in view, it looks just like the old pictures from the D37 races. Back when checkers were ripping from Mojave to El Mirage and back. Its basically unchanged out there. Completely magical in that sense. You just can't find freedom like that in very many places in California anymore.

There really needs to be a multi-cyl class for this stuff like this: you ride to the course - ride the course - and ride home - all on the one bike. Cal City is not supercross type terrain, rather it strikes this perfect balance point between Elks lodge casual and D37 practice track. Before the world got so extreme and specialized, this was probably simply known as "riding" and didn't need a classification.
